New here and new to woodworking

Hello, I'm from Southern California, near Los Angeles, and I recently decided to take up woodworking as a hobby. I always enjoyed making things when I was younger and decided that it was time to to get off my ass and start learning. I'm currently researching, collecting tools and making room in the garage. I'm hunting Craig's list at the moment for a table saw and small tools I can get a good deal on.

I'm a forum jockey for my other hobbies so I look forward to contributing and learning here.

Welcome.

Measure Twice Cut Once -- It's a lot easier to cut more off then it is to cut MORON.
Finishing is 3 parts chemistry and 1 part VooDoo http://lrgwood.com

Thanks. I'm pretty excited to get started, unfortunately the garage requires about 2 days worth of cleaning, but I'm glad my godfather and I upgraded the power to it when we rewired the house.
