Hello

I've attached two photos of the initial stage of building my CNC. I hope to complete the project (mechanical construction) in the coming months.

Very cool!

Is it a kit with plans, or did you design?

I designed.

The useful area of the CNC is 1000x500x10mm

After finishing and testing properly, I intend to make the project freely available.

I have another project cnc hoby much more compact and closed construction on my blog that I intend to build with help of this cnc'm building now.

That is a very cool machine on your blog.

What is the estimated cost including software?

My project was created targeting the low construction cost.

I think the cost would be more or less as follows:

3 nema 23 motors 10kgF ........... R$ 227.00
MDF Sheet.............................. R$ 110.00
Aluminium profile .......................R$ 42.00
Lead Screw (3 meter).................R$ 13.00
Several screws .........................R$ 50.00
Router (xing-Ling)..................... R$ 110.00
Driver......................................R$ 200.00
Mancal Bearings.........................R$ 15.00
Bearing linear guides...................R$ 27.00

Total in Brazilian Real R$ 794.00

In today Dollar USD$ 500.00

Whereas the real value of the components in the U.S. there must be very different.

I intend to use EMC2 Under Linux and others free softwares, then the cost of software should be zero.

Thanks Paulo,

I recently began reasearching DIY CNC, construction is not a problem, but I am a little intimidated by the programing / G-codes.

You really do not have to worry about G-code.

For milling in 2D or 3D, there are excellent free tools that generate G-code automatically. There are specific plugins for it to Inkscape, Sketchup, etc. and several other free CAM softwares.
