:) New guy from MD

Hello.

Just gonna introduce myself, I live between MD, just moved here this summer from NJ. I also just decided to get into the hobby that pretty much brings everyone else to this board. I am half way through my first project (in a few years anyway). My last project was a beer pong table for my brother

I don't have any finished photos of it handy, but it was eventually red on one side, white on the other with R and U (rutgers university) in opposing colors and LED's under the cups and an abbacus scoring system, fold out legs and wheels under one side for easy movement.

My current project is to bring some old chairs I found in the dumpster back to life, and so they match my dining room table.

Before and after

And my hi tech air filtration system (actually works pretty good for most of the stuff the sander puts off)

I think my next project will be a workbench, I really liek the simplicity of the plans at the link below, but I think I would like to have a heavier and more durable table top, possibly 2" oak. I generally have been using an old door on some saw horses for years, but the door was accidently run over (used to support the weight of my moving truck on the grass) when I moved and was pretty much destroyed.

Anyway been seeing cool stuff on here from others, and I look forward to, hopefully submit some cool stuff myself.

Pleased to meet you "neighbor". I was hoping that you would be on my side of the 'ditch' (bridge).

Hey Andy! Nice to meet another Marylander. I've only met 2 people close to me on these boards. One in Ridgely and one in Georgetown, DE. Seems like 60 miles is as close as I can get.

It was hard when I started until I found a little ww group where I got my questions answered. Now with the advances in the web and dig. photo, Youtube, and all kinds of other helpers it is much easier to find the needed help.

I still love talking to other ww's and sharing photos.
Have a good one,
Vicki
