New guy in Dallas

Hello!
Thought I would introduce myself. I have been working with wood in some form or fashion for close to 25 years. I took the plunge into turning about 7 years ago and turn mainly bowls and small vessels. I hope to share some of my ideas and learn a thing or 2 while i am on here. For comfort reasons, I usually take a hiatus from wookwork during July and August (it was 107 last monday here!) I am looking forward to getting back in the shop once my small AC actually has any affect on the temp out there!

Brian

Welcome Brian, glad you're with us. 107? From what I hear from our Houston members that would just be a mellow Spring day.

Thanks for all the welcomes!

Itchy, I have seen some of your work. Very nice! I found out i dont have the patience for segmented work so I stick to turning bowls out of any blanks I can find that look like they might have some nice grain patterns. I do occasionally do some glueups but nothing as complicated as what you have posted. I look forward to sharing ideas. thanks again

Welcome Brian.

It's awfully cool today up the road from you a little - 81 in the shop right now - I had to put on a shirt this morning! Old man winter is already rearing his ugly head.

I dont mind winters here. I can put on a sweatshirt and work all day. When it hits 107, it doesn't matter if I strip down to nothing. Still too hot!!! Supposed to be in the 60s tomorrow morning. Cant wait!
