Hey Jon. The veneer on your drums is very creative. How does Zebrawood affect the sound of the maple shells? Don't believe I've ever seen Zebrawood for drums. Would be cool if you could upload a short audio track for the drummers. We have quite a few here that used to play and some that still do. Did you make the shells or buy them?

The shells for that set were purchased, I think the zebrawood more than likely dampens the sound a bit, at least that's the effect I noticed. The veneer is glued well with high solids veneer glue, so the effect is minimal.
My next one will be staved. I am working on some Maple hand drums right now.
I will definitely try to get an audio recording of them soon.
