Smile New to Forum and Woodworking

Hi guys! I'm new to the forum and new to woodworking. I have recently started working on building a table for my wife...a really simple table! Don't have a lot of tools (yet) and have very little experience other than helping my granddad build some things when I was young. (I was also an awesome LEGO builder as a kid!)

I live in the great state of Alabama (Roll Tide!), and I am a middle school teacher. Look forward to learning from everybody!

David

Welcome David. I'm sure I speak for all of us. We're glad you joined us. You couldn't have picked a better forum and group of folks.

The agregate body of knowledge here is mind blowing.

I have been doing new home construction and remodeling for 25 years, mostly remodeling.

I had always had an interest in woodworking so when I was laid-off about four years ago went full tilt with woodworking. I've been reading everything I can and buying tools as I need and can afford them.

Now I have a steady job and it's hard to find the time to spend in my shop. Oh the irony!

Still I WW when I can and enjoy every minute of it.

My Mom says she saw it coming when I would play for hours with the building blocks. I graduated to Lincoln Logs, then she bought me an Erector Set. I remember watching and "helping" my Dad in his shop when I was fiveish.

Mom says that when my Dad would go on assignment out of town for Sandia Labs I would often disapear and she would find me sitting in Dad's shop.

Guess it's in the blood.

But I digress.

Again, welcome

Jeff
