I have been woodworking since 1999 with my own shop. I have a typical shop with a 10" tablesaw, jointer, planer, and router table. I just put in a Clearvue cyclone and reduced the dust issue dramatically.
Typically, I build cabinets. Over the last several months, I have been building cabinets for the shop and organizing. One of my next projects is a workbench. I cut trees and had a buddy cut the logs into 3 1/4" x 1 3/4" boards for the top. He has a Timberking. He is trying to get me into kiln drying, but I havent jumped at that yet espeicially with the energy prices.
I learned woodworking from magazines, books and forums like this. I really enjoy the exchange of information on these forums.
I live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan which has a very high Scandinavian heritage. The accent here is like McKenzie brothers, "you hoser, eh?". My handle is "da Yooper" - Yooper because I live in the UP. Trolls live in the Lower Peninsula and get their nickname from living "below the (Mackinac) Bridge". And, of course, the Cheeze Heads (Wisconsinites) are to the west of us.
I am a mechanical engineer at Manistique Papers. I have worked a the mill for 20 years.
