New to the craft
For the past several years I've been wanting to get into woodworking but other projects, hobbies, and work seem to always get into the way. I've spent years doing construction projects but I've never gotten into fine woodworking. Now with colder weather moving in I'm ready to get into it.
Over the past few years for Christmas/birthdays I've been asking for tools to get started. Through my research maybe I should have been asking for fewer but better tools. I currently have a Craftsman table saw, router table, and plunge router. I also have a bench top drill press from Harbor Freight that I bought for one job and has been sitting around since (I like to use their tools as one time use disposible). I have far more tools with a general construction purpose: circular saw, drills, nail gun, squares, ect.
I guess I'm wondering if I should start over with a new table saw or get into other tools? Should I get a planer or jointer or is it unnecesary at this time? I would like to make a toy box for my nephew for Christmas and some end tables for my newly remodeled basement.
Thanks for the advise.
