Smile Make the intro half interesting, or else...

Thanks for the opportunity to join the forum. I am 47 years old and have recently started to wish I'd paid more attention to my carpentry teacher at High School. All these years later, I find myself renovating a house and relying on the guidance of a friend who is an expert carpenter.

On the basis that there is only so much beer in the world that I can repay his knowledge and help with, I figured I should start over and research my carpentry tasks. So, that's how I came to be on the forum. From the brief look around that I've had so far, there are some truly talented people here, and I look forward to learning from the community and who knows, sometime in the future contributing worthwhile stuff to the community.

I live in Guernsey, Channel Islands, so am also interested in different carpentry techniques that are used around the world.

Welcome!

Everyday--learning to liberate nice things from ordinary chunks of wood
and I like gnarly wood--outcome is always better than the start.
