Hi Kory, welcome. Lots of good ideas for projects here. Pull up a chair and make yourself at home! If you have any questions just fire away.

Welcome Kory

I always recommend something big like a real piece of furniture. Tables are fairly simple whether a large dining table or a small lamp table or perhaps a coffee table.
Mostly straight cuts. If you buy good quality hardwood, have the mill join and plain the boards for you. Then all you will need is a table saw with a decent blade, a dado blade and a hand held small router a drill press with a cheap cross-slide vise for all of your joinery.

It would help to know what tools you have. If you have a table saw and dado blade a cabinet is a great simple project. Its a simple box and you can make very simple doors or try something like raised panel door. Most people can use an extra one in a garage or laundry room.
If you can build a cabinet you can build bookcases , chest of drawers, etc.

Welcome from Texas !!!

Welcome to the forum.
HHHMMM simple projects, let's see.....
According to the wife, a fixer up home is a simple project...

Na, start with a few hand tools, make a box or two to get used to box joints, dovetail joints of various widts. Get a lathe, make your own tool handles, knife handles etc.

Tools are like guns, You can never have enough.
Where did I put that tape measure???
