just stopped to say hi ...

ed here from wi. it's snowing again. yeah! i think. i'm setting up a new workshop in my house and wanted to ask questions about shiming trunions. seem every search comes back with step by step lessons on how to align your miter slots. so ... i'm off to find a forum

Sounds like a person from the UK as in "ttfn" potentially meaning "ta ta (goodbye) for now".

What is the question about shimming trunnions? Seems fairly straightforward to me. I would only do this if I had an issue with setting the blade to be 90 deg or 45 deg at either end of the range.

More often tweaking of the saw blade is to get the blade parallel to the mitre slot.
