Hello Everyone
I am new to the site. I own a crating company and may be looking for some help with possibly purchasing a 4 x 8' cnc machine to make custom parts for odd pieces of cargo.

Actually I am in the middle of a bid to may 10 crates for an Aerospace company and I may need some help from someone that alreay has a CNC machine to make some parts for my until I can get up and running.

Looking forward to some good conversations am glad I found this site.

Government Spec Crates

Jeff- I worked as the only custom woodworker in the Lockheed-Martin
wood shop for seven years and loved it !! each day was an adventure.
unfortunately, I did not have a CNC and all the custom work was done
by hand. I built crates for items from a computer monitor size up to
a full size Trident D2 missile in three pieces.
I made templates for repetitive designs for blocking and bracing.
having a full size 2500st shop with all the state-of-the-art equipment
(minus the CNC) made easy work for most projects.
so I fully understand just how intricate and exact your projects are.
sorry I can't lend any tips for the CNC but maybe assist in the basic
construction and following stringent government specifications.
the majority of the crates I made were to be used for multiple trips between
South Georgia and California. So the wood, fasteners and craftsmanship
was paramount to the success of the trip without anything getting broken.
Best of Luck in your bidding process !!
