I'm new to woodworking, but have had years of hobby experience building things. Several years ago, I bought a Sears Radial Arm saw from a friend and made a few meager attempts at some projects. I made an aquarium hood with it, which for a fully untrained novice turned out OK. Not great, but usable.
I gave that away to charity about 3 years ago. This last summer, we installed a bamboo floor in our house, which gave me an opprotunity to buy a Table Saw. Always wanted one. So I got one. My next post, in a few minutes, will be in an appropriate forum for my questions on my Table Saw. I think I'm going to regret my choice...
Anyway, my interest in woodworking is primarily for custom furnishings such as bookcases, shelves and so on. Hoping for some good fun.
Oh, by the way. As part of the remodeling that included the bamboo flooring, we remodeled a portion of our kitchen. I was able to make, (after a few false starts) some half decent kitchen cabinets. I'm currently working on one of the drawers for this. That is what will prompt my next post about my saw.
Thanks for a great resource.
