Introduction

Hi,
Am a complete novice, started out wanting to build a gunrack in an old fire safe I rescued from a flood a couple years back, and wanted to use as my gunsafe.

It looks like crap, but it works for now. I enjoyed the prodject so I went online looking for info, and found Finewoodworking.com getting started series. So next I built the plywood workbench detailed there.

I found a Woodcraft store in town, then when they moved locations, I picked up a used Delta drill press and Bosch table saw from their classroom for $750.

I've made a couple jigs and accessories for them from online magazine articles. Now am starting to get interested in this as a hobby. Went to a half price bookstore, bought a couple used books on using handheld powertools and making jigs and such. Now I'm looking online for discussion boards such as this one, for imput and advice. Don't know how far or in what direction I'll take this yet, but have more prodjects in mind than I have free time or money.

You can never have too much pepperoni on your pizza or own too many clamps.

Welcome to the forum! I'm one of those types who love to recycle stuff and make it usable, sure saves money! If I wasn't so Scottish I'd be one of them Yankees!

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. James 3:17
