Hello! Been woodworking about 15 years. Started with a miter saw and tabletop table saw. You don't want to know how many tools later, but I have two shops and a portable saw mill. Still a hobbyist. Mostly bookcases, tables and one pretty massive entertainment center.
A true joy is taking a tree to finished project. Recently had to take down a huge 54" dia. cedar for a remodel. That cedar is becoming doors. Just milled a 48" dia. black walnut. Word of advice, let walnut dry a long time! Tree was cut about 15 months ago. I milled in February this year. I cut some posts down for table legs. Left the legs on my tablesaw overnight. Took me an hour to clean the rust and residue left from the legs. And, we have had more than 10 days of 100 degree heat! Live in the southeast portion of Washington. True desert. I look forward to joining the discussion.
