Howdy, folks!

Old guy (55) trying to learn new tricks. Last year started beekeeping and thought it would be fun to make my own hives. Bought a 1984 Shopsmith in great condition, a 12" Ridgid miter saw, set up my basement shop and realized I was lucky to start this hobby before I retire and have no money! Next addition will be a good router...Looking forward to learning by following the site.

John,
Welcome to the forum. I was at a craft show the year before and situated right next to a beekeeper selling his honey. He was a real nice guy and very informative about the bees. He gave me a stack of handouts to read and told me about a show on the PBS channel coming up about the plight of the bees. Very interesting show. I almost bought a hive until my wife said I need another hobby like a hole in my head.

Thanks, Mike. I've been very lucky in my bees and wood working hobby choices. Everyone I've met or emailed has been really nice and quite willing to share their experiences and knowledge. I look forward to someday being able to reciprocate!

Currently, building an assembly table. Already know 3 things I'll do differently next time.
