Hola from a Newbie in Northern Spain

I'm not sure if this even appropriate for this forum, but I really want to start a new hobby, and I really want it to be woodwork. The problem is that I really don't know where to start.

So, my question is, are there "Stickys" to read for beginners, or a suggested reading list/tool list? I live in the north of Spain, and my Spanish no es tan bueno, so taking a course here is a bit of a no-no. Any misinterpretation could result in me taking a finger off! Therefore any suggestions regarding books/videos/PDF lessons are extremely welcome.

Any other "greenhorn-friendly" tips will also be mightily received.

Thanks in advance!

Just going through the threads here, there are many covering safety, and tips, and procedures. Other than that you can ask questions.

Woodworking is really a very broad term - as you can see from a quick jount around this forum.
"woodworking" from what I can tell covers everything from turning tiny little pens to building giant wooden boats.
My advice would be to look at your home, determine something you need that is relatively easy in design and then go for it!
IMO a book case is a great place to start (everyone needs one - you can avoid the need for wide pieces of lumber - and there is no need for doors or drawers - a great starting project!) or you can go a little smaller with the 1 bazillion box designs out there.
What ever you pick, enjoy it!

Welcome to the forum. Just going through this forum you'll quickly start picking up on things then it's just a matter of building them yourself! Questions never hurt either.

Thanks fellas, I'll start having a look around.

Thinking about it, the house could do with an extra bookcase or two Anyway, I apologise in advance for the very dumb questions that'll be coming your way in the future
