Hi'ya

Hello all.

I'm a beginner that wishes to advance in skill and knowledge, really "up my game", so to speak.

I grew up in my fathers basement workshop learning about basic tools and techniques. My intention is to bring together a new metalworking skill set and an old love of building with wood, into new techniques and style.

So I will post a couple (bad)pics to show you that I'm alittle off the wall, and get out there and start pestering everyone for knowledge.

The first is a bookcase that I built for my new girlfriend (now wife), it's just painted pine.

Next is a table I built with oak and an old pinball "playing field". The legs are machined and welded steel.

So like I said, beginner, but I would really like to step up to chairs, chest-of-drawers, and fine finishing techniques. From what I can see there is alot of talent posting here and I hope that I can keep up and possibly one day contribute.

Welcome to the forum MattFreeman. This is a great place to learn. I really like your book shelves. When you get ready to start buying tools, I would start with a level. I think it would really help you out. LOL Just kidding.
