Hi from Yucaipa, CA!

Hey everyone!

I must say, I'm throughly impressed with what I see on this forum! Everyone seems nice, and more than helpful. Sounds like JUST what I'm going to need. :D

My name is Derek. I am a freelance writer and author who works from home. I just bought a house in Southern California and so I (finally!) have a garage, and will be able to tackle projects that I have been wanting to do my whole life; mainly, working with wood.

Of course, I have done small projects and whatnot in my time, but nothing like what I want to do because I just didn't have the room. Until now, I have been welding, because I'm highly active in the off-road community. While I somewhat enjoy working with steel, it cannot hold a candle to working with wood.

Anyhow, I am looking forward to participating in discussions and learning a WHOOOOOLE lot here from you good people. Thanks! :)

Welcome to the forum!

Welcome to the forum, and to the neighborhood! I grew up in Redlands, sis lived in Yucaipa, and I actually live in Hemet not Riverside as in my avatar. (About 30 min from Yucaipa)

I just put Riverside because it has more name recognition. Lots of good info here, enjoy.

Bill

Welcome. Hope grammar and spelling errors don't bother you too much, else you'll get a bit of a headache here, but yep, you'll find it very friendly and helpful.

You can never have too much pepperoni on your pizza or own too many clamps.

Haha, no worries on the grammar bits - even I miss a few here and there.

I had plans to move to Oregon and buy a house there, but in the end, I decided that I really didn't want to leave friends and family behind, so I stayed here. I'm not a real fan of it, but the mild winters are nice, I guess. :)

NAXJA, the Jeep Cherokee club? Yep, that's me! I've been wheeling with them for 3 years now -- great crowd! You own a Jeep, as well?
