Wink Hi from Mooresville, Indiana

I'm not much good at talking about myself.
I'm much better at gossip, ha, ha.
Anyway, here goes...

Over the years I have been a farmer, an electronic/computer engineer, a church organist, a DIYer and and a woodworker. I have a 24' by 36' free standing woodworking shop complete with a bunch of woodworking machines and hand tools. The shop these days has been setting idle. That is because I have become disabled and basically live in a power wheelchair. I'm also nearly blind. So bad that I can't even get a drivers license. I hold 21 US Patents.

Well, enough for now...

21 US patents? That's awesome! I'm just curious, do any of those have to do with woodworking?

Welcome. Sorry about your disability, though it sounds as though you have a very filling life with lots of impressive accomplishments already.

Well to be honest, NO.
All of my patents deal with either Environmental Monitoring or Home Appliance Controls.

Larrry, I just saw your introdution post. I am new to the forum and just wanted to say that I am guessing that others have probably overcome some obstacles like your situation (though I don't know how severe your disablities are) to keep working in the shop. An article I read some years ago in a woodworking magazine indicated that others had done that with some special fixtures and aids.
I googled a site that you might find helpful. http://www.ableworkshop.com/

Also, if you have any family that you would like to share in the joys of working with your hands, this would be an excellent way to give them that opportunity.

I'm from near South Bend Indiana and travel through Mooresville to visit relatives in Martinsville from time to time. Hope all is well with you. God Bless, Jon
