Hi from Joplin Missouri

The name is Jason,I've been hanging around here reading and browsing through stuff for awhile. I worked in a cabinet shop about 10 years ago as quality control for a few months and then made spice racks and island brackets for a few months, really liked the job and working with wood but really didn't know much when I started and not a lot more when I left there but I always said when I get a place with the space I wanted to have a little shop.

So over the past few months I have been cleaning, planning and setting up a 11x18 shop. Just recently got the electrical finished and as of today I'm ready to begin my first project, which I plan on making a dresser for my ten year old daughter. I look forward to sharing some pictures as i get things going.

welcome

You can never have too much pepperoni on your pizza or own too many clamps.

There has been a lot of progress made but still looks like almost nothing has been done. It's pretty bad, luckily it missed my family by about 9 blocks! I could hear it as I opened my back door, I couldn't imagine how loud it was for those that were in it's path. But people are moving on and trying to get their lives somewhat back together.

Thanks for the welcome!

Welcome. I'm just down the road. Just east of Springfield about 35 miles.

Do one thing at a time, do it well, then move on.

Welcome, Jason.
Good to hear you escaped the big blow.
Post some pics of your shop when you can.
