Hi I’m new to the community

I’m Refinishing a Maddox Secretary Mahogany. Trying to restore back to its glory. Have questions on what type of stain and how far should I go with sanding has some surface scratches and a dime size chip out of the veneer on the desk door. Any ideas of how to proceed?

A really nice piece of furniture. Ideally a restorer should do the job. For DIY, I would make a mould of the other side and cast a replica.

Beautiful piece of furniture. What are you using to remove the old finish? Welcome to the forum.
