Hi I don't really know how this works but, I have a question?

I want to know if there is a good way to attach paper to some walnut burl veneer. I have been doing some marquetry, but the pieces of background veneer I have are to small for my latest project. A fish tank stand for the bedroom. I veneered the headboard with pictures of goldfish and would like to do a picture on the doors of the tank stand. I was thinking contact cement, but when I apply the veneer do I have to sand/scrape the paper off first. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks Paul in Idaho

Hello, I have just come on to seek advice on Garden Gates. No-one ever closes garden gates so I was wondering if it was possible to have one made with same hinge as a saloon doors. Obviously I wouldn't want it opening in both directions and thought maybe a latch would stop this happening. Its seems to simple not to be possible but not many seem to have it. An open gate drives me daft. Some advice would be appreciated.

You could use a weight and a closeline. there are some gate catches I use on my horse fence and chicken fence that you have to lift catch to open but locks itself when it closes.

Self-closing screen door hinges would be my first choice. After that I would try a heavy duty closure system.
