Smile Hi

Hi to you all.

My name is Chris and I live in currently Acton Massachusetts. I have three great kids ages 27, 14 and 17.

I have a fairly robust selection of tools for woodworking, plumbing, electrical work and masonry. I have owned five different houses and performed various amounts of reconstruction in each of them up to and including gutting an entire floor and rebuilding it.

I am currently helping my oldest daughter and her husband do repair projects at their recently purchased house. Not really a fixer-upper but a 1950's vintage house that has not had the consistent care that older houses need.

I have build a few pieces of furniture but seem to have had more experience refinishing existing pieces and with house related construction. I have also build a few sheds and decks as well as created and implemented landscape plans for the homes I have owned.

Professionally I am an executive with over 20 years of success in domestic and international information technology and financial services solutions project management, marketing, business development and organizational leadership.

I work with the Boy Scouts (my youngest is close to becoming an Eagle Scout) as a merit badge counselor. I am also an Eagle Scout having earned it in the early 70's.

I grew up on a 60 acre farm in upstate New York so had to learn how to fix things with limited budgets and tools. Both of my parents had successful side businesses in addition to their careers and farm "projects".

I hope that gives you a good high level view of who I am. Thanks for your interest.

very nice intro chris

Sounds like you have a wide range of experiences using many different type of tools. Same here, only I've been working on the same house for 33 years! I know every inch of this place. every nail, screw, gap bend, sag etc. Woodworking is a pleasure after DIY projects are finished. Inventions and jigs for woodworking are also a favorite pastime. Welcome and I'm sure you'll enjoy our friendly discussions. Please post a sketch or photo with a question and especially when describing or showing your projects! bill

The answer to your question will only be as detailed and specific as the question is detailed and specific. Good questions also include a sketch or a photo that illustrates your issue. (:< D)
