Hi guys. I figured I would jump in the stream here and share some woodworking info. I've been doing this as a hobby only for 15 years or so. I have been upgrading equipment and skill sets along the way on a weekend basis. I finally got a devoted shop when I moved to Tennessee 8 years ago and I love it.
Mostly I make tables of all kinds, bookcases, chests, cradles and other small to medium pieces of furniture. I only make things for family and friends and I do not sell anything. I made a headboard for my grandson with his initials in it and several people who have seen it asked me to sell them one. The thing is, I already have a demanding job and I don't want to have another one. Maybe I'll look at trying to break even on some jobs after I retire.
Anyway, I use mostly species native to the area (cherry, walnut and maple). I'll post some pics soon.
Glad to be on-board.
