Welcome Younpete!

RHoffbauer, we used to camp each spring break at Fort Pickens until the hurricane destroyed it and the roadway leading out to the fort. Have they done any work on it since or is there no federal money available to rebuild it? I miss Peg Leg Pete's.

You guys have just reminded me of a great time my wife and I had in Naples. particularly loved the fishing pier and conversations with the various characters. Only thing spoiling Naples are all the huge apartment tower blocks. loved the TV advert 'only 1.9million'.

Also enjoyed a night in Sarasota en route to Gainesville. Woke up in the morning to blue sea and sky and dolphins just off shore.
Think its time we returned.

yep johnep... Naples is where the "rich" people go to retire.

My grandparents coming from New Jersey got a new house on Hawaii Blvd. in 1971 and stayed for 20 years!!!!

My family used to go to Naples about 4 times a year. 4th of July, Labor day, Thanksgiving and Memorial day.

We stayed at the house there and went thru 5th avenue to pick a beach spot and boy we were lucky in those days [before condo towers and such].

Today it is overpriced [but in a way it alwasy was] real estate and lots of rich and poor people [missing is the middle class].
