Hello from under the snow!

Hi! I just joined...I'm a 58-year-old woman living on a farm in Alexandria, Ohio. I'm hooked on The Woodwright's Shop, and staring at old furniture in museums--even our small local museum has some incredible pieces. Right now most of my work involves repairing/redoing things around here--I live in a Civil War era threshing barn that was repurposed (badly) into a house. I have horses and chickens and dogs, and your basic tools--table saw, miter saw, router, various sanders, etc., most of which need replacing. I'm already going to post one request for advice in the general forum. Thanks for letting me in!

Welcome aboard. I think that many of us have tools that need to be replaced. It is a never ending quest for tools.

St. Roy has his own school which is very affordable. Check out his website at http://www.woodwrightschool.com/ It is only a short 8 hour drive from Alexandria, Ohio!

Welcome. Does it snow in Ohio? My bandsaw was made in Ohio in 1915, now it enjoys life on my front veranda.

Yes, I'm sure they are under snow right now. I'm in north eastern KY, south of OH but right on the bordering river. We got snow here yesterday.

Welcome to the forum. Civil war era barn, eh? That's interesting. And OLD! I always wonder how wood structures have lasted so long anytime I read about them being that old. You gotta wonder if any soldiers ever took cover there.
