Hello from Spring tx

Just wanted to take a quick minute to say hello and give Avery brief background.

I'm very new to woodworking. Only been at it for 1-2 yrs and with a full time job, a wife, two kids (1 & 3yrs old), and two dogs My time is pretty limited but I like to get out to the garage as often as possible. I got into woodworking after paying $1000 for a Mesa Boogie 4x12 speaker cabinet for my guitar/amp and thought to myself surely I can build this for way cheaper. Well about 5 tries later I'm getting super close. Still trying to master the dovetails, and Finnish work as far as covering with tolex etc.

Anyways, not long ago I started to get the hankering to build something outside of a box. Haven't done anything worth mentioning yet but looking to start building something for the home soon.

Anyways, just wanted to say hello and say I look forward totaling to everyone and learning!

Oh and my forum name "AxeGrinder" is in reference to my guitar playing. Been my Forum name on many other guitar related forums and figured I'd just keep using it here.

: )

Spring Texas, close enough to Houston to see the big city but just far enough away to realize you're still there

Welcome aboard. Spring Tx, nice place. We lived there for 4 months after Katrina but it's nice to be home well in Louisiana. I just didn't see myself as a Texan forever. I gotta say that the people in Spring took real good care of us and the churches around there did more to help then the Red Cross.

Welcome Axe. The guitar amp project sounds cool. I have a customer who built a few amp cabinets. It's a great feeling to build your own. Then next you'll have to build your own guitars!

Thank you everybody!

And yea Spring, Tx is nice but it's definitely not the small town it once was. Which is ok by as long as it doesn't get cluttered with real estate etc.
