Hello from So Cali

Just wanted to say hello to everyone. Just found this website and wanted to check it out. So far it looks really good.
I live in Redondo Beach , CA and work for the IATSE Local 44 as a Propmaker in the Motion Picture / TV industry. Some of my previous projects were, Transformers, Spiderman III and Dreamgirls. I do everything involved in set construction, from rough framing to custom finish carpentry. You see it on the screen, we probably built it. Even though my job is rough and consumes lots of time, I've become very interested in making things for my wife and little 23 month old boy. Right now I'm finishing up a pirate treasure chest for my son's second birthday.

Looking forward to participating in your discussions here.

Take care.
Brian Childs

Welcome Brian. Don't be stingy with the pictures of your work both at work and at home. We love pictures.

Do one thing at a time, do it well, then move on.

Glad you dropped in Brian. I hope you will become an active participant. Your work sounds very interesting.
Have to agree about the pictures. That would be really cool to see some pictures.

Posting pics

Hello Guys, I will post pics of my personal projects, but I gotta be super careful about posting pics from my work projects in the movies. Production companies like Sony/Columbia prohibit any unauthorized photos. If you would like, I do have pics that others have already posted on the net., but it's not my work.
