Hello from Port Orchard, Washington!!!

Found this forum while looking for other stuff, and felt it fit some of the needs I had with woodworking...have read a number of posts already and posted a few too...this looks like a great site, adn look forward to being part of the family...

I consider myself an intermediate woodworker hobbyist, definitely not a PRO!!

I enjoy making Adirondack furniture, and children's stuff...I give small rocking chairs to many of my friends when they have their first child, and many feeel they are an heirloom...I just enjoy it...

I really like Port Orchard - lived there in the late 80's and was stationed at the Shipyard and the Trident Base. I used to make hanging planters and cedar flower boxes for sale at the Saturday Farmer's Market. A lot of local sawmills in that area - used to get a good deal on cedar at a mill on Vashon Island. If you have time drive around and ask the locals where the mills are, because you get some great deals. Alder is another great wood that I used to get. Back then salmon fishing was great too! If the salmon run is bad, go for rock cod - they are delicious and fun to catch.
