Hello from Orlando

What a great forum! I feel like I'm among my 'peeps.' I live in Orlando, theme parks everywhere. For the past couple decades, I've been fortunate to have projects with most of the parks around town, many hotels, and other public venues. They call me in to design and build lots of crazy things and many of those pieces begin with much woodworking. I'm self-taught, except for what I've gleaned from Norm on PBS and a couple other places. I'm usually stuck in my shop, cranking out the latest design to meet a deadline so I don't get out to local workshops or woodworking stores to mingle with like-minded craftsmen. I'm hoping this forum will accomplish that for me. I see that many of the posted pics on this forum show beautiful woodwork, and grain, and joinery. The majority of my work gets painted finishes, something that I know good craftsmen shy away from, but the carpentry that goes into it is much the same. Hoping to learn a thing or two and maybe even help out someone else in the process. I posted a couple albums with some pics. Compliments and criticisms are always welcomed! Thanks...Rich

Hey there neighbor! I'm sure you have a good relationship with local lumber suppliers, but there are often quite a few great deals on Craigslist over there for hardwoods. I've been meaning to make a side trip after visiting our office over on S Keller.
