Hello from Northern Kentucky

Hi all. I have been reading this forum for a couple of years and just decided to join. I consider myself a beginning woodworker. I have a strong interest in building small boxes and restoring a couple of 1940's delta band saws I have gotten off craigslist. Glad to be here.

Welcome aboard! Glad to have you with us. Hey, how about documenting the refurb of those bandsaws in a thread!? It would be fun to follow along.

Thanks for the welcome. Here are a couple of picts that I have made. Again, I am pretty much a beginner. As far as the saw refurb, that is a definite possibility as I am collecting the parts to complete a 1940 wood/metal bandsaw.

Welcome to the group. Nice projects. How about some photos of the old Deltas? There are many of use here who have or are in the process of restoring these old band saws.

This is a pic of the first 2 delta saws I refurbed. I haven't started the third yet.

Nice saws. I am restoring one now. They must be more plentiful in your area then they are here. One only comes up once in awhile here. I had to travel almost two hours to get the one I have.

None of the saws I bought were complete. It has cost me a pretty penny restoring them back close to original. I love how heavy duty these things are compared to the new stuff on the market.
