Hello from northern Illinois
I've been lurking long enough , time to crawl out from under the woodwork. I've just dabbled in woodworking here and there over the years but now wish to get serious and build some furnature. Particularly a mission style dining table and chairs..so you've been warned watch out for a lot of dumb questions. I recently picked up a lightly used rigid jointer and just today got a CP 15" planer at auction ( looks almost exactly like a grizzly 1021 ( date on it is 1986 and a test piece came out very nice )). I'm stoked !

You can never have too much pepperoni on your pizza or own too many clamps.

I used to be fairly indecisive, but now....... I'm not so sure.

Welcome to the forum!
I assume you already had a table saw.
Mission Style has a wonderful esthetic.

Thanks for the welcome.
Yes I have a Delta contractor with the cast iron wings , I have to
finish up some sleds for it today.
Basement project is taking priority right now and I have some wide
soffit boards to cut.

You have a couple of saw mills not far away,I believe---Might be a good source of inexpensive wood --

I have a pretty good supply of kiln dried rough planed cherry that
I traded work for that should tie me over for a good while.
I know of a Kirkand ,Il sawmill and I believe I've been told of one
southwest of Rockford ( off of meridian I think ).
Mulvain is in Durand , got my basement hickory trim from them.
