Smile Hello from Newport, NC

Hey there everyone!

I am new to this forum thing as well to woodworkingtalk.com!

My husband and I are in the process of renovating our kitchen and it's taking longer than I expected, but since w can only work on it on weekends and we don't have a woodshop that we can leave our equipment set up in all the time, we are at the mercy of mother nature in order to accomplish anything on this project.

But with all of that in mind, it is coming along very nicely and he and I have finally completed the final wall cabinet for the kitchen today! We will be adding more base and upper cabinets in our diningroom for a buffet with wall cabinets with glass doors and then we can get the ready to start the finishing process.

My husband tends to do things the "hard" way and that has not helped the timeline of this project, and that is vexing to me when I have bought him all the "newest" & "latest & greatest" tools/workbenches, etc and he still goes on doing "it" the old fashioned way...which not always a bad way, it's just slow and makes him work harder than he should have to.

Well anyway, I look forward to all the new skills and ideas I will gather from your forum and all your wisdom.

Thanks!

Well esbeedee, welcome to the family. Good to hear you and your hubby are tackling this as a team. Now go easy on him, and be thanksful he's a man who appreciates the finer things in life, like a good woman,, and woodworking the slow, but much more rewarding, and satisfying way in the end.

You will be proud to describe to your frineds and family how he did this and that by hand.
