Lightbulb Hello from Las Cruces, NM

Hi all,
My name is Marc (nickname is Bubba) and I'm new to woodworking. I inherited an old Montgomery Wards radial arm saw and I'm building a table and fence for it soon. Once I told my wife that I wanted to learn more about woodworking, she put together a pretty lengthy list of honey-dos for me. With some patience and practice (and some input from you all) I hope to be a competent (and safe) wood worker.

Two questions if there's time.
  1. The RAS table requires adjustment pieces (pictured) that I can't seem to find. Anyone seen these? What are they called?
  2. How high should a fence be on a radial arm saw table? The table is 3/4" MDF, but by how much should the fence clear the table?

Hi Marc, welcome to the forum ! Those look like Teenuts to me. Any hardware store should have them. If not Rockler does for sure. http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=1592
