Hello from Johannesburg!

Hey guys

Just wanted to say hello!

I am on holidays for a wile and built myself a small table with a saw and some nails...I rather enjoyed it and since then been watching loads of youtube video's and have developed an interest in real woodworking!

I plan to teach myself but I want to make sure I spend my money on the best books and video's and not buy junk....as a beginner what books / dvd's / websites would you recommend? Also what equipment would you suggest I buy?

After developing an interest in fine woodmaking I am blowen away at how beautifull some tables I have seen and chairs etc....what they sell to the general public (or the chairs I have been exposed to) are crap compared to what a good carpenter can produce!

Peace out

As far as equipment, Table saw, band saw or jig saw, jointer, clamps, router/router table, just to name a few. The list could be endless. I'm sure others could give the names of some good books or publications. Welcome to the addiction, and be sure to post pics. Glad you could join us.
