Hello, I'm Al from New York

Hey, so I'm new (obviously) and I'd like to introduce myself to all of you.

I'm from New York City and am 23. I just finished college where I studied math and right now I'm in the process of applying to a woodworking school which trains people to get jobs as helpers.

I'd like to know a little more about the trade in general which is why I joined this forum. Basic stuff about what the best and worst parts of the job are. What kind of skills would you say a person needs to have in order to be a good woodworker? What were you guys into before you started doing it, for instance? Do you have any advice to give to somebody looking to learn this trade?

I know this is an introductions thread so maybe I made it a little too long or less introductory. If I did, I'm sorry. Anyway, I look forward to talking to all of you!
