Hello from Idaho

Saying hello from the middle of the potato fields in Idaho. (Literally)

Just getting my start into finer woodworking and came across this forum while researching some router stuff. By trade I am a carpenter / chainsaw hack artist. The company I work for specializes in hand made log cabins.

See you guys around the forum

Yes that is me next to it. 5'10" and 185 for reference to the log. That was another archway we did while waiting on the county to quit dragging their feet on some permits for the house we are on now.... Top log is m&t, and all the fence rails are m&t as well. What a pain that was trying to get it all together like that...

Here is what the finished product looked like.

You'll probably find this hilarious, but my sudden draw to woodworking is actually because I want to make some arcade sticks and a arcade machine for my place. They are pretty simple but if you breeze through some of these sticks you'll see they are pretty cool. http://www.joystickvault.com/showgal...r=2812&cat=500

Getting into it though my mind has started to wander and I think I want a new desk, entertainment center, captain's bed for my boy, etc.... Figure I will start out small with something like the controller and build up the necessary tools to tackle some of the larger projects.

That's awesome work. That's a grand entrance to that log house. Wish I was doing more of that. No demand where I'm from. Thanks for sharing & good luck on your joy stick thingamagigger project. Lol
