Hello from Friendswood , TX

Let me say what a great site this is.

My name is Mike and I have been woodworking for over 20 years. This year has been wild for me. I was laid off from my IT job at the end of February and have been blessed with being able to fall back on my wood working skills to make a living while trying to get back in IT. Thanks to a friend of mine I have been contracted to two places and am currently building custom furniture form them and have a four month backlog of work.

I have had to get some new tools for my work and this site has been a great help.

Mike, that's a great story. I'd love to see some pictures of what you're doing. Make yourself at home.

Great to have you. Sorry about the job loss but great that you had something like this to fall back on. I have family that used to live in Friendswood. I think they are still all in the Houston area but not sure of the exact locations anymore. I haven't been down that far in over 20 yrs due to job and family. Hope everything goes well and we would love to see some pictures of your work.

Welcome to the forum Mike,
Sounds like the layoff may turn out to be a blessing in disguise.

Uh, Tony I think you could sail up through the creek to Friendswood...

I think you me and Gorp there ought to get together one of these days and actually converse face to face...

(Wasn't I supposed to get something to you a while back? Work and family have been INSANE lately...)

Interested in my woodworking, workshop and whatnot? See http://daves-workshop.blogspot.com, want to see my other interests such as hunting, fishing, off roading, and camping? See http://wildersport-outdoors.blogspot.com
