STOP!!!

What safety measures are you taking when using your lathe?

I don't consider myself a turner by any means but that workpiece is spinning pretty fast. Anything can happen.

Please do your research on lathe safety and buy the necessarily protective gear before you fire that lathe up again.

Welcome!
+1 on the self protection while turning--- it's muy important--most all of us can cite close calls or injuries.
Nonetheless-- post pics--- we like those!

I work with cranes every day,and safety is always my first concern .I must of watched 50 videos on beginning work with lathes. The first thing I picked up was safety gear.

Laughing at myself!

I just wanted to be sure. I have limited experience with my lathe and it scares me.

Now if you had said "I threw on all of my safety gear including my athletic cup and fired that baby
up".... :)

Again, welcome!
