Hello from Charlotte, NC -- home of the (future) Nascar Hall of Fame!

Hi fellow woodworkers. I'm in the rustic furniture and cabinet building business and I'm looking forward to talking with others with the same interests and hearing all of your ideas!

Hey Jack-- you'll love the south! Ft Mill and Rock Hill have good potential cause they are across the state line from Charlotte with lower taxes, etc. Even though some builders have a lot of inventory and holding back on new construction, there's still quite a bit of building going on. there is a lot of cabinet companies in the area and may take some time building up a client base though. If that's your business, start with the small builder -- they are not stuck with contracts, etc. like larger builders.

rmac; Howdy :} my "thing" is not so much kitchen cabs but I do one of's, built-ins, custom mouldings such as Crown, dentil, chair rail, bookcases
Offices, closets etc. Probaly going to wind up doing more "handyman" stuff than what I like to build.
The SC tax structure and prices are what attracted me to that area, since both my wife and I are over 65 SC has what appears to be lots to offer for us old farts
