hello from alabama ( war eagle)

been lurking last few days figured i best introduce myself. my name is jim . my occupation has been a carpenter last 30 yrs. i am disabled now . disabled to my shop . what i like most to do is build toys. i have 5 g,sons ,2 g,daughters. my shop is a 24'x24' i built it with a gambrell roof. to give it the barn look. upstairs is just my wifes storage area . i have 3 shopsmiths mkv's . not interested in the stand alones that cost a fortune. nice to have , but for a small hobby my mk v's does a great job . if u know how to find them they can be had for a fraction of the cost of stand alones. i am 55 yrs old if i had the stand alone i would fell like i had to produce alot to just pay for them . a lil sample of what i do hello from alabama ( war eagle)-dsc00250.jpg

War Eagle ??? Um ... wait ... I'm SURE that when I went to Ga. Tech, they taught us that it was not "War Eagle" but "Turkey Buzzard"

Those are nice kids toys.

Welcome to the forum.

Welcome papahammer,
Run into you on the shopsmith forum occasionally. I think you'll like it here. Lot of expertise running around this forum. A little prejudice against shopsmiths, but a lot of real pros here.

Welcome aboard. Always happy to have another woodworker around here. Those are some pretty awesome looking toys you got there. I bet the grandchildren love to come to your place to see what grandpa has made for them this week. Keep up the great work.

WAR DAMN EAGLE......wow what a roller coaster ride.....reminds me of the old Iron Bowl games at Legion Field. I still remember back at a UA/AU game when my uncle gave me a little elbow and asked if I wanted to give up....bout that time a fellar named Bo Jackson took off like a rocket....the only thing that stopped him was the band playing.......

BTW, welcome to the forum...Birmingham born/raised myself.

Well...not this year! Congrats Auburn on a heck of a comeback win!

That's why the U is usually!
