Talking Hello !

New guy here, just stoppin in to say 'hello!' Wife and I live in the burbs of Chicago, and I love to work with wood. I have a long history of family who have built many things great and small, and I've certainly got the bug to do more myself. I've always lived in apartments prior, but we just bought our first house so plans for a wood shop are developing quick. Actually, it was my wife's idea (I was thinking it, but thought her answer would be NO) to tear down the existing detached garage and build a bigger one so I can have some room! Ahhh... dreams....

Well, we've only been in the house a few months, and I'm starting to get the fever. I'm going to start with 2 projects - a play table for our son with a built in game and a fishing rod holder that will look a lot better than just clumping them in the corner.

Looking forward to getting a lot of good use and suggestions out of this site! Cheers!

Thanks guys. I'm working on a toy table for my son right now. Still planning, but once I get some decent sketches, I'll post them and let you know the progress. Great forum!
