Crikey. I thought this was going to be a nice quiet little forum! Re products designed, these were mostly consumer goods (lighting, hairdryers, telephones etc) in plastic and metal. So wood is an escape. Built myself a house a couple of years ago here in Yorkshire, but there's no space for a workshop, so I'm on the lookout for a reasonably cheap piece of land (cheap land is about as common as hens teeth in the UK).

Perhaps you could rent a garage, security for your tools good be a problem.
