Good evening
Hi all, my name is Simon (known as Spinks, long story) I am 43 and sort of semi retired (another long story but i just work when the boss is busy and have time off when it goes quiet due to poor health) I have had an interest in wood turning for a while now and aquired a lathe (not brilliant but it does the job) about 3 years ago. I have finally started using it in anger this last week or so and am fairly pleased with the results thus far (not up to alot of you guys (and gals) standards yet)....I appear to be using a heck of alot of sandpaper!!!
I am from west Wales in the UK but the 5 year plan my wife and I have is to head up to north Wales by 2017 to live as we spend alot of time up there walking and exploring. We are also learning the welsh language at the moment so that helps.
I will invariably trouble you with technical queries and advice and look forward to becoming part of this community.

Welcome to the forum...Always excited to hear from people abroad. Culture and procedures are different than the states and I end up learning more from the so called newbies than vice a versa.
