A dabbler from Maine.

Name is Ed, most people call me GLK (most people pronounce it Glick). I have a very small wood shop in my basement where I primarily turn Game Calls and Pens. And a larger shop down the road in my parentís barn that is mostly metal working but has some wood working tools in it. My day job is in QC and I sell my wood and metal works to supplement the slow times. That is the long and short of it.

In my basement I have a G0555LX 14Ē band saw, a 17Ē drill press, a small belt/disc sander, a low RPM sharpener, a Dewalt miter saw, a dust collector and my Delta Midi lathe. In my living room I have my Delta Unisaw, Iím only allowed to use it when the wife is not home. Over at dads I have a relatively complete machine shop and some miner wood working toys.

Iím thinking about a joiner and a planer but I keep arguing with myself over whether or not I would really use them. I almost got a Planer a couple of years back when I was building my kitchen cabinets but I just could not justify the cost a the time.

I live just outside of Freeport. What about you?

Side note, itís not my mom that is OK with the table saw, itís my wife. I used to use it with her home but with our baby she does not want power tools used around the little one, canít blame her. So she hast to be out with the little one for me to run the saw.

Nice work Ed and welcome to the club.

Jeff

When I die, I want to go peacefully like my grandfather did ó in his
sleep. Not yelling and screaming like the passengers in his car.
