This community ROCKS!

Hello. My name is Kevin...aka BigK, SpecialK, Kmeister. I'm a working man, husband, father and grandpa to two beautiful little boys with a third grandbaby on the way. I'm from the St. Louis area.

I'm an outdoorsman and I love to create and discover things in life. I'm also retired Air Force, retired Auto Sales Consultant and current Civil Service employee. I'm a people person and have been told I have a loud and infectious laugh.

I just joined yesterday, and really enjoy this community. There are a lot of talented people here.

I'm not a professional woodworker by any means, but I sure do LOVE taking a raw piece of wood and making something of it. Wood is just an awesome media to work with. I love all of it. The smell of it. The look of it. The feel of it, etc.

I made two other posts. One in the Project Showcase thread spotlighting a special project of mine, and one in the reference Material List thread spotlighting my book (that can be read for FREE on-line), about my special project.

Anyway, if you want to get a quick overview of my project, just go to my Squidoo Lens link below in my signiture.

Have an awesome woodworking day!

Welcome from Louisiana... The state, not the hick town south of you, LOL.

I lived in STL near lafayette park for 1.5 yrs and quickly learned to say I was from New Orleans rather than Louisiana to avoid confusion and disdain, lol.

My wife is from Cape but was living in STL when we met...

Lot if knowledge hear if you are good at picking brains, enjoy!

Thank you for the welcome. All I can say is this is a great place to be. I hope all of you create your very own lasting memories with woodworking!

Now Go Forth And Create!

P.S Here is my Game Theme Coffee Table (TCT). See link below for more pics.

P.S.S I built that outside deck platform too. In the winter I remove the table and put a firepit in the Lava Rock.

Welcome aboard BigK. There are a lot of people with some very special talents on this forum. We are all pretty much a friendly bunch who get along and are willing to help. I don't think that any of us are experts at all aspect of woodworking, but we all have our specialties and are more than willing to share that knowledge. There are plenty of folks on this forum whom I admire and aspire to be like and I hope that you find some inspiration on this forum as well. I value a learning experience and having a good time woodworking, over a perfect project. Sounds like you are well on your way to being a fantastic woodworker. You already have the most important thing..........a good attitude.
Looking forward to seeing your work and hearing your input in the various threads.
Ken
