Another one from Long Island

Hi guys (and girls)... I'm a carpenter on Long Island, and I also have a small woodworking shop.. Woodworking was just a hobby of mine until my remodeling customers found out I could build them bookcases, mantels, other misc cabinets... Now about a third of my workload is done in the shop.

I've lurked here for awhile, and figured it was time to come out of the shadows....

Now that your hobby involves customers, is it still fun? Hope so. Glad you decided to join in.

Yeah, I felt so left out...

Seriously, thanks for the welcome... I'll see what I can dig up for pictures...

Rob- yeah, it's still fun... I'll spend 10-12 weeks in customers homes, and then get to retreat to my shop for a couple weeks to build some stuff. There's the Blues station on the satellite radio, plenty of Gatorade in the mini fridge, and a good pizza place directly in front of my building. It's almost like a mini vacation when I'm working in the shop.

Ooooh, spookey.... Where did he go?

Sorry I dont check in often... Life's been busy.. My shop is in East Northport, Jason... I havent been in there for almost two months though, been working on a large remodel project in Oakdale.

Here's a picture of the last thing I got to build in there, a bathroom vanity. The center section has a curved front that projects out about 2.5 inches. Sorry for the bad pic, Im no Ansel Adams.

Well, I did have a post on someone's shop-vac thread last week, and now there's this one... You guys are going to think Im a chatty-cathy.

I rent a shop near the Northport train station. It's a 3 car garage split up into shop space and a small spray room.

back into the shadows.... oooooooh!
