Another NOOB from VA!

Greetings all! This site was sent to me by a friend from another site, oldhouseweb.com. LOTS of seasoned woodworkers there too.

I recently picked up a used Ryobi BT3000 & a new PC plunge/fixed router. Eventually I want to build the storms that were originally on my 1916 Craftsman Bungalow. The mismatched ugly ones that are there now just have to go!!!

I'm hoping to do a bunch of reading here to gain more knowledge before I start in with the questions.

So...greetings to all & hoping to find some great advice & maybe some local folks here too!

Mo

Hey Mo, welcome to the club! I'm sure you'll find lots of good info when you're ready to get started on those storms.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! I'm really looking forward to getting my shop set up down in my basement. I need to either buy or build a router table. I'm leaning towards buying since my current skills are...well...at about a 2 out of 10. I'm pretty confident I'll be fine since I am comfortable with power tools & also have a healthy respect for anything that can remove a limb!

I'll just keep reading & learning....

Greetings fellow Virginian! Welcome to the site! I too recently picked up a BT3000. If you haven't been there yet, check out BT3Central.com. Good site for info on your saw.

Welcome from Texas !!!

Welcome to the forum.
Have you picked out what wood you are going to use for your storms?

I don't know how available it is anymore but Cypress would be a great choice if you can get it.

Tools are like guns, You can never have enough.
Where did I put that tape measure???
