Another Cheeseheaded Packer and Brewer fan

Hello from Wisconsin. Rhinelander to be exact, up in the northern part. I joined this forum because it has lots of useful info. As my name states, I own a sharpening business, but also don't want to step on any toes here, as Daren knows the craft as well. I grew up in my pa's wood shop where he professionally built cabinets and furniture for 25 years. Now i am taking over part time as he enjoys retirement. In addition to sharpening, I have been a general contractor and carpenter for 10 years.

Inspired by Daren and his chart, I bought a grinder/buffer and started on my chisels, first on the grinder, then on scary sharp through the grades and finish on the buffer. However, I have yet to shave hairs with a chisel, cutting paper yes, but very frustrating when Daren makes it look so easy. Any suggestions?

Welcome, and hey that's one thing you don't have to worry about on this forum, stepping on toes. We all seem to have things to learn and things to teach.

Welcome Cheesehead.
Green Bay is a neat area. If it didn't get so cold there in the winter....
